Loot boxes are a scam

I have played this game since launch and for the first time in 2 years they have locked a new character behind a loot box. At least with paywall characters I know what my money is going towards but paying just to get a random chance to get a new toon is ridiculous. This is why I quit playing contest of champions and most likely will be the reason I quit playing this game as well.

I may not be a huge whale but I am VIP 11 and with this kind of thing going on I will not be putting any more money into this game.
