I’ll change this to a 4-5 star review when these chests are done away with. The biggest reason I started playing this game is that you could fairly easily get whatever character you wanted with some grinding, and the characters that couldn’t be gotten that way could be purchased, and you would choose what characters you got from it. These new “loot box” style characters are awful, and I refuse to spend a dime on this game until they’re gone. (Watch Cynicalex on YouTube for a better explanation)

I have been playing this game since the start that always enjoyed it. Sometimes I would on in store for a bit due to the fact new characters were coming out and it was getting harder. I was so used to the leadership of journalist integrity and blunt force. Now there are so many characters and they are even creating this new system where it’s about less than 10% chance to get anything good. Even getting the new characters you waste so much material and they expect you to waste real money in this game. This game was always my favorite but it is coming to a point where am I have to let it go because they have no consideration for the players and only think about putting money in the wallet. Fix this update and stop with the nonsense of so many crystals then materials. If this happens, then I will start playing again. His game has gone off the deep end and has gotten to the point where many people are also complaining. It used to be about the love of marvel fans and enjoying the game as RPG but they have tainted it and took advantage of the fact people were spending for some crystals and focused more on those who actually spent over $1000 just play and have fun. No marble, you have officially lost a player.

How can you guys add exclusive characters to loot boxes when EA was just ripped apart for it? I don’t know if thats happening but you have to change this. Many people, like myself are not spending a dime until you make them farmable in some other way. And the bribe was total BS, I spent it on cards. Yeah the converters are not going to do it, basically still gambling. #boycottmff

This game used to be perhaps the most fun of any comic book mobil game, but the latest update turned it into a gambling app with real world cash/In-game gems required to unlock the newest characters through gambling on RNG chests. It’s the most blatantly obnoxious cash grab the developers have done and it’s really sad. For a long time I’ve given money to the app for a monthly recharge of daily bios but now i don’t want to give the makers any more money. i’m basically boycotting netmarble until they get their act together and stop the gambling. It’s going to run the whole game into the ground.

Adding the bios to the lab processor is what drove me to join in and give a 1 star. Hey netmarble why dont you pay me for a 1 in 20 chance of a 5 star review, cause thats basically the mantra you guys are singing.

The most recent update, 3.6, added loot box characters which is a completely ridiculous business practice. One rolls for a chance of getting these characters which is a pure gamble. There are 147 characters in the game which makes the chances very slim that one get the character they want. Until this is changed, this game is a 1* for me.

I most definitely understand giving pay options to get characters or other things faster. However, I quit Contest of Champions because the time or money for get characters and items was insane. It was pretty much pay or spend years to get to where people who pay were at 3 years ago. I say all that to explain why I am vastly disappointed in the people that develop and run the Marvel Future Fight App. They are becoming like a game that is vastly inferior to what Future Fight was just an update ago. I have been playing for about 2 months from launch, and I have been happy (extremely so to content) with the game and was willing to pay for things that made sense. But now they’ve made a choice with just money in mind, versus how things seemed to be where they cared about the game-with added payment options to more quickly advance. I severely want them to go back to that.

Ill change this review if they change their practices. MFF is a character based game and they have hidden some characters behind a loot box that might not actually unlock said new characters. Either make a character a subscription based purchase or make them obtainable in game. To put it behind a paywall that does not guarantee the character is why Im not spending on this game until this problem is rectified.

I have played this game almost daily for the last two years. I have almost every character except some of the new ones. I loved playing this game, but it has gotten to the point that to unlock characters now, especially the fun/cool ones, you have to pay. To unlock Magneto, you need over 6000 gems, which $99 only gets you 5500 without any sales or such.... $100 + just for Magneto, and he is needed to unlock Jean. What makes matters worse is the new Ultimates pack with Nova, Blue Marvel, and a couple of others, is that you now how to spend thousands of crystals on a “chance” at the ultimates biometrics. This means it’s left up to RNG (random number generator) and you must get several chests of the same character to level them up enough to be useful. This is extremely tasteless and selfish of Netmarble, especially in light of the backlash from loot chests in Overwatch and Star Wars on consoles. Very unfortunate that it has come to this. Many of us hardcore fans are turning away from the game. My piece of advice for new players.... don’t even start. It’s a fun game, but will need hundreds or thousands of your dollars for your full enjoyment.

I loved this game until the latest patch,3.6 I think. I now notice a new ultimate loot box which is just wrong. This practice has to stop now, I am not putting any more money into this game

Just a scheme to get your money with this update! If you want some of the new characters to have to gamble to get the character etc..until change I will not spend any money or crystals

I really loved this game before the last update. It was the first freemium game I have ever spent cash on because I thought the dev did f2p appropriately. I was just about to buy some more gems but after this update I wont. I used the feel encouraged to spend irl cash but with the recent changes Im more discouraged than ever. Yesterday was the first time since it launched that I didnt even bother to use up all my energy or complete the dailies. Its sad because this game had a bright future.

After so much time now they added lootboxes...really?! I dont mind paying in this game but paying for a chance to get something instead of paying for what I want its too greedy. I hope you fix this huge mistake!

Terrible loot crates added to the game. Horrible update. Would give less then one star if I could.

Gambling boxes need to go now!!!!! This is the most disappointing slap in the face I have ever received. Don’t give me crystals to make up for your terrible idea. Make this right or I will move on from the game.

I’ve been playing this game non stop for over a year and have loved it. Sadly the 3.6 update has destroyed the foundation of what makes this game really stand out. Pre 3.6 you could get the vast majority of characters, with some grinding, exactly when you want. You knew what your time and effort was going toward. Now , after two years and 130+ characters they have added an MCoC or randomness to the process with the new character chest. You now can put that same effort and you may just be burning your time and effort. This is sad as Netmarble had something great but if this is the direction then no recommendation can be made from me. Good luck Netmarble.

I’ve been with this game for years now, I like it but there has been little movement toward designing modes to actually play and enjoy combat. Most of your time will still be spent navigating their micro transaction systems, not playing with the characters. In my opinion, Netmarble gets far too much money from the player-base to warrant aggressive time walls and content locked behind loot boxes. Let us just play with the characters and enjoy combat longer than 30 second sessions followed by 5 minutes of researching the best way to spend as little real money as possible.

Future fight has a very engaging experience. However; the latest update and the introduction of random gambling hero boxes has soured the experience. It has degraded from a 5 star game to a 1 star. The game used to be very generous but is now falling down the same whole that other cash grab games have gone down. Should net marble reverse the course then it would be returned to a 5 star experience.
