Been playing for 2 years. Recent update has locked new characters behind an RNG loot box that will cost you hundreds of real dollars to unlock, level up, gear up & T2. Nearly 1800 crystals for a “chance” to get bios for 3 characters out of over 100 characters. I’m boycotting this game until they fix this. 1star rating for an otherwise great game. Greed thy name is Net Marble

I stopped playing other Marvel games over the gambling mindset (a system based entirely on RNG to determine what characters you get) and I’ve stayed with this game for over a year because your system rewarded grinding and patience with a minimum of paying but even then, you know what you’re getting. Your latest patch changes that and will not reward you for excessive greed. I’d rate lower if I could because I loathe predatory practices in games.

Was fun to play but with the latest update, the concept of loot boxes is turning me off. I will be boycotting those loot boxes and the characters Netmarble claims to give. It’s a shame that Netmarble is relying on and encouraging gambling via game. I won’t be renewing any subscriptions until this is fixed. I stand with player Cynicalex in boycotting those loot boxes. I will spend no crystals and will not renew the daily crystal subscription and when my bio subscription runs out I won’t be renewing that subscription either. I don’t mind spending a little cash to enjoy the game but making it next to impossible to acquire some of the newer characters and creating the loot box/gamble system just to force players to spend more money is an abomination. Change this ASAP Netmarble. Or forfeit my money. I certainly hope hundreds and thousands of players will do this as well. #boycottLootBoxGamble, #NetMarbleOnNotice 3.6 small patch: not good enough Netmarble. What don’t you understand? Stop making characters RNG. They need to be more readily available. I don’t mind grinding for a month or so or being able to pay subscription for the bios but the RNG is a massive fail. I will uphold my boycott until you change this farce as well. Bios through the lab? 1-2 per try. 1/19 probability = 5% to get bios let alone only a small % to hit jackpot. Burn through resources like it’s a forest fire. You guys are a joke. #boycottNM, #boycottLootboxes, #boycottRNG. You won’t get another dime out of my until you fix this. Not put a bandaid on it.

This is not contest of champions I play this game so I dont need to deal with that. This game is amazing Ive been playing since civil war update and now that they did character rng no we are not having it we will boycott till this stops. Netmarbel do u want to be battlefront 2 and EA? Change this crap. Even if u dont change this update just at least go back to the way things were in the next one. Just no netmarble just no.

Edit: So NM has tried to compromise which I appreciate. Not ideal but so long as this doesnt become the norm going forward with new characters Im altering my review back to the 5 stars it deserves for over the past few years of my playing. Original: Netmarble has always had hit and miss tactics for making money and Im not opposed to spending some. But this 3.6 update sets a new precedent of rng spending of real-money currency to try to unlock new characters. The best feature of this game has always been no rng to unlock characters so you can experience all the Marvel universe characters. Until they abandon this tactic, they wont be receiving any more financial support from me.

This game is full of my favorite characters and netmarble put a lot of effort updating the game to keep it fun and fresh. I have no problem paying for some content if I want to get certain characters or equipment, but when you add gamble boxes you cross a line. I will never spend another dime on this game until they remove the gamble boxes or at least keep the characters separate from them.

If i wanted a ‘casino’ experience i would’ve gone to vegas! I want a good game to play on my off time and something concrete if im actually going to drop some money

Update: 28 Nov 2017. Simply put, this exceptional game nosedived with update 6.3. We could debate previous updates, but what’s made this one terrible, is that the near characters are simply a game of chance. It’s a gamble to get who you’re hunting for, and a furtherance in the addiction to POTENTIALLY max out the character’s gears, etc. I’ve recommended this game for well over a year if not two now, but this is shameful. Other characters may be tough to obtain and max, but at least it’s doable and gives you something to work for. Many updates have had that quality where, in spite of things you didn’t like, you could still enjoy the growth and development. Even with over a grand in crystals freely given, it’s an investment to provoke an addiction. Outside of that, the game is still playable and enjoyable if you’re playing at your own pace, but if you’re hoping to compete with the masses, you’re willingly bedding in frustration. Now is the time to be and remain a free to play player; especially with the Black Panther game quickly on the rise, and any other updates coming down. I hope Netmarble drops these ambitions, and fix this gambling, cash vacuum update. They nerfed Rogue after her debut QUICKLY; this won’t hurt. Here’s to praying and hoping they get the message and care enough to make the change. Update: This has by far been the best update yet in my opinion. Quickly put, paying players arent the only ones who can, once again, enjoy this console worth game. When it comes to giving rewards for playing, its still generous and big time. The "energy matinée"/discounted energy at the right hour is an excellent touch as well. Though you only can play the challenge missions (daily and villain sedge twice for a regular player...the third villain sedge is absurd unless you have an army of level 60s with max skills and at least level 15 gear, or crystals for days. Overall, its a great touch for casual and consistent, vet players and newcomers. The lab has received a beautifully, tremendously done overhaul thats greatly appreciated. Dimensional debris are much easier to come by whether through the lab or portals that now only require 4 energy unless its special hour and then its 3. Gear is a bit of a challenge more so than Dimensional debris, but its not impossible. Now while all these and more has been done to restore greatness and enjoyment in the game, the are still those things that cater to those that pay. Tier 2, World Boss battles, and Duel Mode Battle Arena which pairs you against players who are not at your level of playing whether totally outclassed or underclass. Either way, still great game again. So great in fact, it has you wondering, hoping they dont screw this up with updates the fans arent asking for. Im looking at you Gwenpoole. Raise those glasses ladies and gents; Future Fight is great again, indeed console worthy. Additional note. For gold farming, check out the new auto play feature in alliance battle mode (THANK YOU!!!), and if you are having trouble with frequent crashing, it may be due to you device being and older model. I know because I had the same problem until I bought a new iPod. I was playing on 4, but now have the latest series and not only is it much faster, but it is hasnt crashed once. Thank you for you time reader, Netmarble, Disney, Marvel, and contributers. Update: It has DRAMATICALLY, PROFOUNDLY fallen off. Rather than new missions for those whove been playing since the launch, or expansion period. Its become more and more and MORE condensed and impossible to earn gold, crystals, etc UNLESS you pay more and more. Where you could once enjoy the game without spending money to progress, even THAT wont save you seeing as there will be an update around the corner that requires ridiculous amounts of investing to get and make a character formidable i.e. Tier 2 and World Bosses. Villain sedge mode is now officially a joke. I honestly could go on and on, but the short version is this. This once great app for spenders and those who do not want to spend money has officially reached the place where it no longer needs to lure fans and curious/referred players to download. Its not about the players having fun anymore, its about those willing to pay and making the game so unrealistically difficult that members will have to pay to win local challenges. Raise your glasses of your drink of choice to a once great app for all to enjoy, and remember her/him for what she/he once was. The game is BACK, BABY!!!! The best and arguably the most well put together app game in over a year is back and functioning properly for all... I hope. What was unplayable for a month is now back in full effect, and its like a breath of fresh air. Thanks for the fix and bringing back this epic game to the fans and newbies. Its more fun and rewarding than before without the feeling that you more pay to win or enjoy this EPIC game. Thanks again Marvel, Disney, Netmarble, and all those who supported and contributed to the development and furtherance of this, once more, EPIC GAME!!!

The 3.6 New update has single handedly began the death of this game. Good job NM. Looks like you are not so far behind Marvel Heroes after all. VIP 9 here and I will not be spending another dime or crystal. Also, if we dont see a change within 4 days...I will get a full refund from the last 30 days of spending on both Marvel future fight and lineage 2 (thats right NB...Black Friday money going bye bye) from the Apple Store. This review will be changed when you stop robbing your customers and fix this nonsense. I said GOOD DAY!

Too much Gambling. I don’t play this game so that I couldn’t access my favorite characters to play as especially not ones that I’m already putting money in. this is bad Netmarble. Will not buy anything once subscription is over unless this is a issue that leaves. I don’t care that people are still paying but you are hurting longtime players and whales with this move.

Why are you doing this netmarble? Why youre making the game more and more pay to win? Please fix the 3,6 patch

I haven’t been playing long but I got into the game because there wasn’t a wall from getting characters like other games and then I wake up and there are new characters that everyone wants and we can’t get them with our spending money and then if we want to upgrade them to tier 2 we have to spend even more money hoping they drop again in the box. I guess we should have said something with the way the new cards system was introduced and maybe we wouldn’t be here today but I want them to know I won’t be putting anymore money into this game until something is done.

Ive spent more than $5000 on this BS game. Would give a ZERO if possible. All the new updates are requiring players to spend LOADS of real money just to play. New loot box system will drain all your money and you won’t get anything. Random Number Generator is fixed in this game to rob you of your real money.

One star until the RNG character chests are removed. Played for over 2 years, this is a ridiculous insult. Buy gems and cross your fingers. Nope not going for it.

I’ve been playing this for several years now. It’s the only game I play on my mobile solely because you don’t have to pay to play. You can play all the content without ever spending a dime, albeit takes longer. Because of that aspect I’ve dropped money into the game out of respect for their play model. Latest update implemented a loot box system where you pay money for the chance to get a new character. These loot boxes are the only way to collect the new characters. I’m won’t take part in games that use these predatory tactics. Fix it and I’ll give you back the 5 stars.

Loot boxes huh? So are we EA now or did we just ignore all the backlash they got over this gambling mechanic in Battlefront? Kids play this game, you’re encouraging them to use their parents hard earned money to gamble on maybe getting something they want. This is scum of the earth tactics and needs to be addressed. I understand making profits but this is close to drug dealing and creating addiction. Drop this sucker down to 0.

A game that once offered both a robust free to play and a clear pay to win more, has now introduced lottery style loot boxes. Pay to gamble at getting a chance to play with the new most powerful characters in the game. If you want to break your wallet and have to spend thousands of dollars to have any characters of worth this is the game for you!

Thanks for listening! I dont speak for everyone, but Im glad we dont have to spend crystals for RNG loot boxes to get new characters now. The lab processor is still RNG, but its much more affordable to free players. :)
